FINAL PROJECT: ADDING 5 PDF PAPERS TO MY IMMERSIVE LIBRARY

This is not my meshmoon. I was unable to get the pdfs into my meshmoon. I kept trying with the meshmoon presis. I couldn't get the pdfs into my own world. I was having a lot of issues with the meshmoon. But the meshmoon presis did work with a few random worlds. So I decided to at least show the pdfs in another world. I'm not sure if I had too many pictures and videos. But you can see my own world which in the previous screen shots.

FINAL PROJECT: TESTING MY FELLOW CLASSMATES' IMMERSIVE LIBRARIES.

This is Cara's Meshmoon. I'm really impressed which how much work she did. I see a lot of pictures of what look like her family.

This is Michelle's Meshmoon. She has a lot of pictures of friends, herself. She seemed to build somewhat of a castle. Looks pretty cool.
This is Jose's Meshmoon. Looks like he has a few pictures. He also has a video that plays.

BUILDING MY IMMERSIVE LIBRARIES/MUSEUM

Here you will see some pictures I added. I'm going to make them clickable. It's hard to see the pictures from here but its of my Dad and brother.

Here is a large 3d block that I created. As you can see my blog is displayed on the black. You're able to scroll without having to go to the blog site.

Here is a picture of a website next to my blog block.

Here I created a sphere. The 3d sphere has a rock facing. I thought it looked kind of cool.

Here is a group of pictures that i'm adding. I will make them clickable to websites.

IMMERSIVE LIBRARIES AND MUSEUMS.

For part of my online course "discovering computer graphics" I visited the Immersive Education Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group http://JiED.org
As technology continues to advance in the world we live in, the way we live our lives day to day changes. This is becoming more and more evident in our education systems. People rely increasingly on computer technology and online resources for education. Part of what Immersive Education Libraries is about is creating ways to access information that was once in books and other print materials online. This is created through all types of multimedia to include images, videos, sounds, text, and much more.
One of the great things about using technology for education is you can explore much more. Immersive education is working to create ways to make this digital environment seem more real. Not just looking at a computer. One of the ways this is done is through virtual reality. Interactive communication between other users gives people a sense of being more connected. Part of this interactive communication include using avatars through augmented reality. This allows users to have an almost physical being with the other users. Virtual worlds allow users to interact with other avatars.
These virtual worlds are similar to some of the gaming technologies seen with video games. Say you want to put on a presentation for a group. You can meet with all the other avatars that are part of your class or group and do you presentation. Maybe take them on a tour, show everyone pictures. While at the same time being able to rely information back and forth.
With the technology advancing everyday the immersive education libraries and museums technology become ever more useful and advanced. With this virtual study spaces allow students to learn from anywhere. You can connect with people in other countries, making it easier to network with a much more diverse group of people. The possibilities become ever more expanding with the full augmented and mixed reality.
