Texture Mapping

In this image you can see the texture of the roof. Very clearly see the different colors that make up the texture of the roof. Texture mapped.

In this image you can see the small wall to the right. This has a solid colored that is flat shaded.

In this image you can see the bench to the right. This is an example of solid coloring.

In this image you can see the walkway has clear definition of colors. This is considered texture mapping. Up close the texture of the wood grain can be seen.

This image is an example of texture mapping. The wall in front of my avatar has clear definition of texture mapping.

From this point of view you can see the house is clearly a solid colored format.

Class 5 roll call 1

3d textured mapped images vs flat shaded images

The differnet between 3D objects that are texture mapped and those that are flat shaded/colored. So these two tanks look fairly similar. Image one is the texture mapped object and image two is the flat shaded image. The difference between the two is apparent in the colors. But looking at the images closely you can see that image one captures much more of the body of the tanks. I see this especially in the wheels. Where as image two clearly shows details of the wheels, It doesn't appear to have depth. more of the shade and coloring show the wheels. The same goes with many other parts of the tanks such as the bulk head.

Class 4 assignment 4

Class 4 assignment 3

Hi everyone,
Here are some of the IED videos I found interesting.

Midterm #6

This was an interesting lesson. Using the layers tool. I liked using this one. Not sure why on my blog the background color shows up as black. It shows up as white in my images. Anyways here it is.

This is a picture of a penguin with the text understanding and using layers in GIMPShop. To create this image I used the layer tool in gimpshop. Created a layer with the text and the picture. I then used the anchor tool to pull them together. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. I though this animation process was interesting. Using the layers and rotation tools multiple times i was able to create a series of layers. The layers of the text are set to different angles. This is what makes it look like it's rotating.

This is a rotating image of my full name. To achieve this I used the layer tool along with the rotation tool. After writing my name i created layers. Each layer I rotated my name using the angle. I started at angle 45 and increased it with each layer. Then anchor the layers. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. Midterm #5

JPG

Gif

This is the monster images above. The image is a lobster. The fist image is a jpg file and the second is saved as a png. First I wrote my name on the images. Then saved one as a jpg and one as a png file. To do this click on extensions when saving the file. When saving the JPG i check the progressive button. When saving png i checked the interlace button.
